Nvidia’s Jensen Huang: What does it mean to be an engineer?
At the IEEE Honors Ceremony held on 24 April in New York City, IEEE Medal of Honor recipient Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, offered powerful, inspirational words for students and engineering professionals alike on what it means to be an engineer and what drew him to the profession. At the ceremony, he told the audience that engineering is the discipline of applying principles to break down the most challenging of problems into solvable parts, and doing so with the dedication and resilience to make possible what once seemed nearly impossible. In his words, it is the building blocks and foundation upon which society is built. It is a sentiment that has guided IEEE and its global community of engineers and technologists for more than a century.
