IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organization advancing technology for humanity, announced today that it has reached a new milestone with over 100,000 open access articles published and now available in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

“Authors from all regions of the world in both academia and industry increasingly choose IEEE to publish their open access research, ensuring that their research is instantly exposed to over 5 million users of IEEE Xplore,” said Karen Hawkins, Chief Marketing Officer at IEEE. “As IEEE celebrates this milestone, we take a moment to thank our authors, editors, reviewers, IEEE volunteers, and IEEE Xplore users for making this possible, and helping IEEE’s publishing program to continually evolve to support the needs of authors all over the world.”

Helping drive this growth is the addition of many new open access options for authors over the past ten years. IEEE continues to provide more choices to support the work and needs of all authors and researchers, whether they prefer to publish in traditional subscription journals or open access journals.
