February 2015: IEEE Releases latest update to the IEEE Xplore Digital Library

In the latest release of the IEEE Xplore Digital Library, several enhancements were added:

New Subscription: Smart Grid Connected Homes Standards

This release also includes content for the CABA Smart Grid Connected Homes standards. IEEE is now an authorized reseller of the “Impact of Smart Grid on Connected Homes” research study published by the Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA). In April 2014, the document was posted in IEEE Xplore as a single sale item. At the time, IEEE Sales expressed interest in having the document set up as a subscription in IEEE Xplore. The subscription is now available in IEEE Xplore, as of 21 February 2015. For more information, please Contact Us.

Remote Access now available

IEEE Remote Access is now an option for IP authenticated customers to offer roaming access to users who need to access the institutional IEEE Xplore subscription off-site. To take advantage of this feature, your users must be able to access an IP authenticated WiFi.

This feature is off by default, so please contact onlinesupport@ieee.org to enable it. For more information, visit IEEE Remote Access.

Other Enhancements and Minor Fixes

  • Sorting options now available for popular articles and volume only journals (current and past volumes).
  • Updated Endeca stemming now accounts for British and American spelling.
  • ISBNs, ISSNs, and eISBNs are now searchable without hyphens.
  • Custom Treatment for Volume Only Journals For Volume Only journals such as IEEE Magnetics Letters and IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, there will be new labels associated “Past Volumes” and “Current Volume” to streamline navigation. The Table of Contents were also updated to reflect these labels (remove of “Issue Date”)
