A Growing Portfolio of IEEE Publications and Authorship Opportunities, New Research and Discovery Tools, and Expanded Content Partnerships Help Fuel Continued Growth of the IEEE Xplore Digital Library
As IEEE celebrates a new milestone—eclipsing 6 million total documents hosted in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library—we take a moment to thank our many authors, members, volunteers, and subscribers for making this moment possible and reflect on how IEEE Xplore has evolved to support the needs of users all over the world.
The content growth only tells part of the story as to why so many authors, researchers, and users rely on IEEE Xplore more than ever before:
- The technology landscape is constantly evolving and so are IEEE publications. IEEE is continually publishing new research and developing new publications, new conferences and new and updated standards to help users keep up to date with coverage of the latest technical developments that shape the world in topics such as AI, machine learning, IoT, 5G/6G, EVs, renewable energy, semiconductors, and more. In addition, IEEE recently developed the expertly-curated Climate Change collection in support of IEEE initiatives to help combat climate change.
- IEEE continues to provide more options to support the needs of all authors — those who publish in traditional subscription journals or those who prefer to publish in open access journals. IEEE now offers approximately 30 fully open access journals and 170 hybrid journals spanning a wide range of technologies, offering more options than ever for authors.
- IEEE has also continued to expand its publisher partnerships to enable users to find other relevant high-quality content within IEEE Xplore to help fulfill their needs — now offering over 300,000 documents from other leading publishers.
- Since its inception, IEEE Xplore has introduced a continuous ongoing cycle of enhancements to make the research process faster and easier such as author profile pages to track the evolution of an author’s work, the IEEE Xplore API platform to aid in systematic literature reviews, new personalization options such as “My Research Projects”, research alerts on trending topics and many more features coming soon. IEEE continues to fulfill its mission to foster technological innovation and drive global innovation through the sharing of knowledge. The ongoing growth of IEEE Xplore and its base of millions of users play a key role in fulfilling that mission and helping IEEE provide the information and tools that authors and researchers need to shape the future. We hope you will continue the journey with IEEE as we work towards the next million!
